Farmer’s Market on Pender Island

About This Market

The Pender Islands Farmers’ Market, established in 1978, is an integral part of the Pender Islands’ community identity. As a member of BC Farmers’ Markets, the market is dedicated to showcasing products that are “Made, Baked, or Grown on Pender Island.” Sponsored by the Pender Island Farmers’ Institute, the market brings together local farmers, craftspeople, and food vendors to offer a wide variety of products, including vegetables, fruits, flowers, eggs, lamb, cider, baked goods, jams, sushi, plants, art, crafts, jewelry, music, and snacks. The market is open on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm, from the May long weekend to the Labour Day long weekend. Additionally, a Food-Only Cooperative Food Hub is held on Wednesdays from 3-6 pm in the Farmers’ Institute Barn behind the Hall. The market is also involved in the BC Farmers’ Markets Nutrition Coupon Program and offers vendor resources and participation rules for interested vendors. The market is pleased to offer the Farmers’ Market Nutrition Coupon Program in partnership with the Food Bank, the SGI Neighbourhood House, and the Child Care Society. Visitors can stay updated on market news and events by subscribing to the Farmers’ Institute Newsletter and following the market on Facebook and Instagram.
